Bronte to Bondi and back again
One thing that I love to do as a landscape/seascape photographer is to get up really early head out to an amazing location and photograph in the beautiful early morning light. My plan for today was no different. Up at 4am to head out to Bronte beach so that I could walk along the oceanfront to Bondi, and find some interesting location with one of the sculptures by the sea in the foreground and the gorgeous sunrise lighting the sky behind. But, this morning I was woken by the rain pounding the roof at 2am in the morning, and all my hopes of a great morning went down the drain. However, I made myself get out of bed and head out into the dark morning to see if things will go my way with the weather.
The thing about being up so early is that the only people you see on a morning like this is other photographers, the early morning joggers, and that is about it. Today I was wondering where everybody was, the walk from Bronte to Bondi was almost devoid of people. The weather must have been looking pretty bad to keep everybody away. No way was there going to be any kind of spectacular sunrise. The clouds were covering the sky and rain was hanging in the air, so a change of plans. Time to photograph for a moody looking stormy seascape.
Always remember that if you adapt to the conditions there will be a photo that you should be able to take.
